Bed & Breakfast

B & B on Funen and South Jutland means staying in private homes. B & B hosts have of course set their distinctive stamp on the home’s interior – which is possible kept in a nostalgic traditional style or completely modern. B & B venues are to be found all over the County of Region Southdanmark – both in major towns, villages, countryside, and the isles. You can choose between staying in old villas, modern family houses, idyllic houses and farms – with and without animals – in the countryside, or even at one of the several manorhouses.

Quality Assurance

Apart from room accomodation some hosts offer well equipped holiday apartments or spacious family rooms. If there is not a lounge close to the room itself – there is in some cases table and chairs. As a rule, shower/ bath are in the same building as the room itself. Some Bed & Breakfast offer ensuite bathroom and toilet facilities. Many Bed & Breakfasts are equipped with hotplate, coffee machine, electric kettle, fridge and cutlery. Clearing away and tidying is the guest’s responsability.

The indicated prices are to be found in the pictogrammes – this includes price per room per night – bed linen, towels, and breakfast. Prices start at DKK 180,00. If you are staying at a holiday apartment, prices are listed per day per person for the entire apartment. Some hosts offer served breakfast, while others a self service breakfast which guests have to prepare themselves. The self-service breakfast contains: coffee or tea, a morning cereal (e.g. cornflakes) bread, butter, cheese and marmalade. Fresh milk is in the fridge. Please see each venues pictogrammes. Some hosts give a reduced price for children under 12 years who sleep in the same room as their parents. Some hosts give a reduction in price if you do not require breakfast. If you stay for more than a certain number of days – usually 3 – there is often a discount.

Advance booking and further information

Booking in advance is a good idea – contact the selected Bed & Breakfast host by telephone, fax, e-mail, internet or by post. It is very adviseable to book your room well in advance if you are planning your holiday during the high season. It is of course possible to just ”turn up” and ask the host if they have any vacancies available. For a charge of DKK 25,00 bookings for Bed & Breakfast can be made at the any tourist bureau listed at page 2. Please note: For guests staying on the island of Ærø and other isles it is very important to book in advance return journeys and space for your car when booking your room/s. Payments

Payment on arrival in cash directly to the host – if you have placed an order in advance – the host will, however usually ask for a deposit prior to your arrival. Please note: Payment with credit cards cannot be accepted as payment as hosts do not have the facilities for credit cards.

The catalogue

The catalogue is divided according to the geographical areas. For each local area there are descriptions of the Bed & Breakfast venues with a photograph, name, address, telephone number etc. as well as information about the facilities available and also the dates (period) when each venue is open for guests. All hosts will gladly provide you with further information. The names, addresses, and telephone numbers of the tourist bureaus´s are also listed for each local area. They are always pleased to help with further information about the local area, activitities, facilities, attractions, and sights to see. In the centre of this catalogue maps are to be found indicating each Bed & Breakfast venue with a number. This makes finding your host and planning your tour easier.
